On October 27, 2026, „Valahia” University in Târgoviște hosted the fifth edition of the IEEE EPS & NTC Student Branch Chapters Summit. The meeting, held at the university's research institute, brought together students from Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary, as well as faculty members, researchers, and industry experts.

On behalf of ETTI – POLITEHNICA Bucharest, the event was coordinated by Professor Emeritus Paul Svasta, Dr. Rodica Negroiu, Ph.D. in Engineering, and Andrei-Cristian Popescu, a fourth-year student and representative of the Center for Electronic Technology and Interconnection Techniques. The team collaborated with representatives from „Valahia” University in Târgoviște, „Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu, and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.
The program aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences among IEEE student branches and to present current trends in the fields of electronic interconnection and packaging, as well as nanotechnology. Visit to the BEKO Factory in Ulmi It provided participants with hands-on experience with Industry 4.0 applications, automation, and industrial digitization.
Students also received free access to SIITME 2026 to attend the scientific sessions and talk with researchers and industry representatives. The summit was supported by the IEEE Electronics Packaging Society, the IEEE Nanotechnology Council, the IEEE Romania Section, and BEKO.
