Web Educational Platforms

Within UNSTPB (ex UPB), centralized access credentials are used to access IT educational platforms, except for the following one: student.

Important information, valid from the academic year 2020-2021:

• access data for personal accounts managed by UPB (cont moodle,email instituțional, cont Microsoft) is managed through the platform https://my.upb.ro/. Here you can do it password reset or account activation. For those who have had an account, you can access this platform (and the others) with the old password. Here you just have to update personal data (very important), to be able to recover your password when you can no longer access your accounts. 
• after activating the account through https://my.upb.ro/, if you can't access your Microsoft account, you'll need to sign in https://curs.upb.ro/ and change the password, respecting the high degree of complexity, otherwise Microsoft does not accept it (at least 12 characters, 4 characters, no words from the dictionary or username). Microsoft account generation may take up to 24 hours after you change your password. Also, even if you have a Microsoft account after changing your password on moodle or https://my.upb.ro/ you must wait a while for it to spread to Microsoft servers as well.  
• for students there is the application https://studenti.pub.ro/ what is the starting point for access to other applications; Here it's important to set up a personal email address and phone number, which will automatically spread to your account. https://my.upb.ro/ where you can recover the password for the other accounts. Password on https://studenti.pub.ro/ does not sync with other accounts (cont moodle,email instituțional, cont Microsoft).
• access issues are reported on the platform https://ticketing.upb.ro/. Attention, just report here account access issues  https://my.upb.ro/

Remarks:

• PhD will need to send a message to the address nicoleta.branisteanu@upb.ro containing the authentication data (name, cnp) and contact data (personal email, telephone) that will be used to reset the password of the UPB account (the electronics administrator does not have rights over doctoral student accounts).
• For external collaborators, the department director or the master program holder will need to send a message to the address admin@etti.pub.ro care să conțină datele de autentificare (nume, cnp) si date de contact (email personal, telefon) ale persoanei pentru care se solicită contul de acces. Problema se va rezolva dacă persoana vizată are un contract (de angajat, de colaborare, pe proiecte, etc.) activ.

Student platform

User: Student's CNP or passport number used for admission
Default password: the password on the admission platform or the last 6 digits of the CNP
Utility: Access to the student's situation - annual averages, arrears or differences, accommodation situation, etc. Here you can also set up your personal email address used to reset your Active Directory password, as well as your IBAN account for stock exchange delivery.

Active Directory Account Management (AD) Platform

Utility: Access to study or employment contracts, access to other UPB services and usage documents, change of personal e-mail address and phone number on the platform, change of AD password.
Note: to This one address can activate or reset your AD account password.

IT reporting platform

Utility: Reporting issues related to UPB platforms.
Note: Open a ticket only after you have carefully read the documentation for the platform where you have the problem and you are sure that there is a functionality issue.

Email and calendar

Note: Use the e-mail account provided by the university for all official communication with the secretariat, dean's office and UPB teachers.

Distance learning platform - Moodle

Utility: Access to study materials as well as to the scores accumulated for each course.

If you have problems with the authentication app (which needs to be installed when authenticating on Moodle - Google Authenticator app), please post a ticket on https://ticketing.upb.ro/ and in the help topic select "Login.upb.ro platform". 

Very important: do not uninstall the application after the first use, will be required later. 

Students will be enroll automatically to the courses in the teaching series of which they are part. For special cases, course holders may decide to allow access to other users.

Moodle integrates with Teams, synchronization may take a little longer;

Important: each MOODLE course has an automatically created Team that automatically updates when a new participant is added to MOODLE; if you want to create smaller teams (for seminars) do not create a new team, but create more channels for the existing Team. Please do not delete the Team created automatically! A useful link from Microsoft for setting up meeting participant categories

Self-enrollment is disabled. Students with differences or participants in non-standard courses will need to contact the head teacher, who will tell them how to connect. The easiest way is to request access, and the teacher will have to accept your access. Upon acceptance, students will also be automatically assigned to the Teams group. 

Only students enrolled this year will be able to access the platform.

Video conferencing platform - Microsoft Teams

Utility: The undergraduate and dissertation topics are published here, assigned to the students, the annexes for the exam registration are generated and the final papers are uploaded.

Software Mathworks – Matlab
