Overview
The Master's program in Electronics and Applied Informatics coordinated by the Department of Applied Electronics and Information Engineering of the ETTI faculty of UPB offers its graduates a broad opening towards the applications of electronics in various industrial fields (efficient conversion of electrical energy from conventional and renewable primary energy sources, transportation, industrial automation, robotics, medicine, informatics for industrial environments, neuroinformatics, processing and transmission of information through wireless sensor networks, etc.), reflected by the disciplines of study in the curriculum: Fast Process Control, Artificial Intelligence in Robotics, Basics of Automotive Electronics, Virtual Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Informatics, Renewable Energy Systems Electronics, Numerical Automatic Systems, Dedicated Systems, Efficient Electrical Power Conversion, Applied Neuroinformatics, Power Electronic Systems, Virtual Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering. In addition to these practical subjects, the master's student is directly involved in scientific research activities throughout the 2 years of study together with the teaching staff in charge of courses and applications (Research-documentation project, Research-development project, Integrative research project, Research carried out during the first 3 semesters and Scientific research, research practice and dissertation elaboration in the last semester). The curriculum also includes the subject of Quality and Human Resources Management, which provides students with the basics needed in the firms where the graduates will be employed and, last but not least, the subject of Ethics and Academic Integrity, which teaches the basics of respecting values and moral principles in firms and
in social life.
Who is it for?
Potential candidates for this master's programme are graduates from the following fields: electronic engineering and telecommunications, computer and information technology, applied engineering sciences, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering - specialisation in aviation equipment and installations, weapons, missile and munitions engineering, energy engineering - specialisation in energy and nuclear technologies and energy systems engineering, engineering and management - specialisation in electrical, electronic and energy engineering, who want to specialise in this current interdisciplinary field.
The experience of the previous years has proved the interest towards the EIA Master both of our own graduates, but also of graduates from other electrical faculties of UPB (Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages, Electrical Engineering, Energetics etc.) as well as from other universities in the country (Military Technical Academy, Transilvania University of Brasov, Ovidius University of Constanta, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu etc.),
who are attracted by the educational offer of the EIA Master that opens the way to a professional career in the field of research, design, production, services, marketing of electronic systems and equipment for industrial units of all types, vehicles and robots.
