Information Processing in Brain-Machine Interfaces
Course Holder: Prof. dr. eng. Mihaela NEAGU
Laboratory holder: Prof. dr. eng. Mihaela NEAGU
The course provides advanced knowledge of encoding, transmission, processing and storage of information in the nervous system and assimilation of knowledge on the use of this information for the development of efficient brain-machine interfaces, with concrete applications in intelligent prosthetics and brain-computer interfaces. Through laboratory activities benefiting from two dedicated high-performance acquisition systems, BIOPAC and NEUROSCAN, and through a team project, students have the possibility to address/solve afterwards any problem related to information transmission and processing in the nervous system or related to the implementation of brain-machine interfaces, applying modern methods of neural correlation extraction (e.g. multivariate analysis/graph theory/artificial intelligence - deep learning, etc/ etc).
