The Mobility in Wireless Networks course aims to analyze how mobility affects networks, systems and applications. The mobility implications of devices and end users at all levels of the Internet Protocol stack are analyzed, from the MAC level to the application level. It examines how mobility affects both the levels of the protocol stack and the various functional aspects of the systems, including security, confidentiality, discovery and resource management. The applications aim at: analyzing the principles of operation of routing protocols in different mobile communication networks; demonstrating the ability to analyze the mobility of subscribers in 3G and 4G networks and to solve critical situations for different types of traffic; Demonstrating the ability to evaluate performance, in terms of mobility, for ad hoc networks, UMTS, IP, LTE.
