Wireless sensor networks
Course Holder: Prof. Dr. Eng. Roxana ZOICAN
Laboratory holder: Prof. Dr. Eng. Roxana ZOICAN
The goal of the course is to build students' ability to design, develop and optimize sensor networks by studying and analyzing the following concepts: wireless sensor network platforms; communication architecture and protocols for RWS (MAC, Link, routing); energy management; sensor data acquisition and processing; signal processing, target localization and tracking, self-organization; RWS modeling and simulation; application case studies (health, environmental monitoring, smart home). The applications give students the opportunity to deepen the concepts presented in the course. The performance of sensor networks, routing schemes, interconnection with other networks, monitoring systems and location algorithms are studied.
