The specifics of the department can be briefly stated as the basics of electronics. The didactic and research concerns of the members cover the space delimited at one end by the physics of semiconductor devices, go through the field of semiconductor devices, go through the field of circuits and fundamental electronic systems, so that the other end reaches the level of computing architectures and programming languages. Over time, research programs have been conducted in the DCAE department in the field of semiconductor technology, electronic devices, computer systems technology (with applications in: graphics, video processing, spoken language technology and person-computer dialogue, advanced processing techniques). digital signaling, artificial intelligence and performance computing).
